青い花瓶に一輪の大きなひまわり、キルタンサスのようなピンクの花、マーガレットのような小さく黄色い花などが生けられています。パステルによる簡潔な表現は、花の生命そのものを描き出すかのようです。
それらを引き立てるのが青と白の花瓶です。花瓶の青は、反対色の黄色のひまわりを際立たせています。同じ花瓶を描いた油彩画と比べると、その効果は明瞭です。余白の中に置かれた花瓶と花々は、柔らかなパステルの色彩が響き合うことで、季節や時間を超越するかのような夢幻のイメージに息づいています。
In a blue vase, there is a large sunflower, pink flowers resembling Cyrtanthus, and small yellow flowers resembling marguerites. The concise expression of pastel seems to capture the very essence of the flowers' life.
