1932（昭和7）年7月、安井は国立公園協会の依頼により十和田湖を訪れました。｢この邊は7月になっていてもまだ寒い位で、緑も新緑の様な美しさであった｣とその印象を述べています。風になびく青々とした木々と紫にかすむ遠くの山の対比は、初夏の清々しい大気を感じさせるかのようです。湖畔にあふれる豊かな自然を勢いよく捉えた画面からは、安井独特のリアリズムが感じられます。それはまるで見るものに、新緑の十和田湖を吹き抜ける風を追体験させるかのようです。
In July 1932, Yasui visited Lake Towada at the request of the National Park Association. He remarked, "Even in July, it was still quite cold here, and the greenery was as beautiful as fresh leaves." The contrast between the lush, wind-swept trees and the distant mountains shrouded in purple haze evokes the refreshing atmosphere of early summer. The painting captures the abundant nature along the lakeshore with vigor, showcasing Yasui's unique realism. It almost allows the viewer to experience the wind blowing through the fresh greenery of Lake Towada.
